If I wear contact lenses, should I wear them into the appointment?
Yes. if you currently wear contact lenses, please wear them at least 1 hour prior to your appointment into the office. If you have the contact lens parameters from the box tops, please bring them in as well. Also, if you have glasses, bring them along, too.
If I already wear contact lenses, why do I have to have a contact lens fitting?
As our goal is to ensure that contact lens wearers have and maintain healthy eyes, the contact lens fitting is required in order to assess the health, curvature and hydration of your corneas, and to make certain they meet the specific and necessary standards for wearing contacts. You will receive a pair of diagnostic contact lenses which you will wear for a period of 7-10 days prior to returning to our office to finalize your prescription.
If I have an outside glasses or contact lens prescription, can I have it filled at the Metropolitan Optical?
Yes, Metropolitan Optical can fill any valid doctor's prescription for glasses or contact lenses, providing the prescription is no older than one year. Otherwise, it will be necessary for us to re-examine your eyes to ensure there has been no change in the health of your eyes, or vision.
